Tech Literacy
Why it matters
Technology now reaches almost every home in Nepal. Understanding it has not kept up. Grandparents take video calls from children abroad without knowing what to do when the app asks for a code. Young people spend hours a day on feeds without knowing why those feeds show what they show. When something goes wrong, the people who understand least lose the most.
What a session covers
- Topic: How it worksWhat you leave knowing: What the internet, an app and an online account actually are, without jargon
- Topic: The goodWhat you leave knowing: Video calls, digital payments, government services online, and free learning
- Topic: The badWhat you leave knowing: Misinformation, addictive feeds, data collection and online harassment
- Topic: Information you can trustWhat you leave knowing: How to check a source before you share it, the habit we asked everyone to practise during the August 2026 floods
- Topic: AI toolsWhat you leave knowing: What chatbots and other AI tools can and cannot do, and when not to trust them
