Think Tank
Why it matters
Good decisions need good information, and in Nepal much of it is missing, out of date, or kept behind a paywall. A young founder, a small business or a returning Nepali should not have to guess whether there is a market for an idea, or pay a consultancy to find out.
What it researches
- Area: MarketsQuestions it answers: Who buys what, where, and at what price
- Area: PossibilitiesQuestions it answers: Which ideas could work in Nepal, and what they would need to succeed
- Area: Local businessQuestions it answers: What helps or holds back small producers, shops and cafes
- Area: Skills and jobsQuestions it answers: Which skills are in demand, and where people are leaving to find them
Open by default
- Every report, dataset and method is published openly, free to read and reuse with credit.
- Sources are named, so anyone can check the work.
- Findings that disappoint are published too. A market that is not there is worth knowing about.
Who uses it
Founders in Sandbox testing an idea before they build it. Businesses in the Local Business Directory looking for their next market. Students, journalists and policymakers who need facts about Nepal they can cite.
